A few weeks ago, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Fine Chocolate Festival at Navy Pier in Chicago. It was a lovely event, filled with every variation of chocolate I could have possibly imagined. As my fellow editor and I browsed the spacious halls of the convention center, we encountered scores of stalls each offering something great, each more delicious than the next. While I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, I was delightfully surprised by the sampling of toffees, truffles, bark and more. After taking a bite of a particularly delicious brittle, I made my way over to the Flying Noir stand at the fest. Feast your eyes on this gorgeous spread:
I quickly spoke to Flying Noir’s creator, Karen Urbanek. Karen creates small batch artisan chocolates in a boutique shop in California. All of her chocolates are hand painted with original designs and are packaged beautifully. Lucky for you, we’re happy to present a Flying Noir Artisan Chocolate Giveaway, featuring boxed chocolates, drinking chocolate and more. Click here for details and to enter! This prize package would make a truly special holiday gift for anyone on your list.
Some of the best parts of the show included trying new and interesting flavors of chocolate. I tried liqueur-filled chocolate and Brazilian truffles, which were definitely out of the ordinary for me. One of my favorite elements of the show was the showing of chocolate sculptures. The lined the west hall of the conference hall, looking majestic and appetizing at the same time! It was great to meet both local artisans (I’m from Chicago, born and raised) and also to have the opportunity to speak with some of the biggest influencers in the chocolate industry, like Valrhona. For more fun, I’ve posted some pictures of the event. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter the AllFreeCopycatRecipes.com Flying Noir Artisan Chocolate Giveaway!
