We collected gently-used and handmade potholders, dishcloths and oven mitts. The donations are intended for Love INC of Lake County, which does great work in helping families make a fresh start in safe new homes, no matter what hardships they’ve faced. You can read all about the great work Love INC does in our interview.
Our grand total was 90, and we hope these items will make many people feel more at home in their kitchens.
We thank everyone who sent in donations! We have contacted the prize winners via email: Rebecca Martin and Amy Seimer.
We were lucky enough to receive a donation of materials from Fairfield Processing so that our editors could sew up our own donations. (Thank you to the kind folks at Fairfield!) While we aren’t all experienced sewists, it was fun to learn how to sew potholders for a good cause.
Editor Danielle Zimmerman helps editor Dana Byerwalter sew a potholder.
Another successful charity drive. Thanks, dear readers!
