I feel like each day I am making more dinners using my slow cooker. As the holidays get closer, I know for many of us our schedules are on overload and the only way to avoid fast food is use the slow cooker for dinner.

Today, I am going to help you out a little bit by rounding up a few of my favorite slow cooker main dishes. Slow cookers can be used to cook raw meat from start to finish and be ready by the time you walk in the door from work. That’s one of the reasons why I love mine so much.

Let’s get started with this great list of recipes:

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork - Using the Slow Cooker for BBQ meats such as this pulled pork is my favorite way to eat BBQ. It makes the meat so tender it falls apart, place it on a bun or on top of a hot potato with your favorite toppings and you have the perfect entree.

All Day Crock Pot Roast – Another easy low prep meal is roast in the slow cooker, honestly this is the only way I remember eating roast as a kid. It was always in the slow cooker and came out with the juicy, tender flavor of a homemade meal.

Autumn Sausage Casserole – Getting creative with your slow cooker is also a fun experience, take this casserole for instance. This casserole uses many ingredients that you will have on hand, plus it’s a one dish meal. This would be perfect for a busy day!

Cranberry Braised Turkey Drumsticks- As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I knew that I had to feature this one. This would be a great addition to the traditional turkey for dinner, plus think of how easy this would be to put in the slow cooker the day of and it would be ready in time for your guest to arrive.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos – These tacos combine BBQ with Corn Salsa, two wonderful combination! These are likely my favorite way to eat a taco.

Applesauce Pork Chops – Pork chops are very low in cost to purchase, then add a little bit of applesauce and get this wonderful main dish!

Slow Cooker Lacquered Chicken – This just looks like a show stopper of a meal, perfect for a dinner party and they likely won’t believe the small amount of time it took you to prepare!

Slow Cooker Mac N Cheese- This is a kid friendly slow cooker dish that is perfect to fix for the kids. This can be paired with leftover slow cooker chicken to create a new and different meal.

Italian Beef Sandwiches – Being from the Midwest we love our beef, and these would be loved by all around our house!

Slow Cooker Orange Chicken – I love orange chicken and making it in the slow cooker is even easier.

As you can see from this list, you can make all different main dishes with your slow cooker. The main dishes can be as simple as you want them to be or as creative as you want them to be.
