With winter finally here, we’re starting to settle into hibernation mode. That means we’re taking out Grandma’s tried-and-true recipes and giving them a whirl as we try to avoid that blustery cold weather. Every winter, we like to bring our meals back down to basics with hearty ingredients that are easy to find at the local grocery. Traditional German recipes have that old world-style taste we love with the added benefit of making us feel nice and cozy from the very first bite.

Whether you’re looking to honor your German ancestry or just want a few old-fashioned recipes to add to your meal plan, check out some of the classic German recipes that are just perfect for winter.
