BlogHer Food 2014 Conference + Swag Bag Giveaway

May 27, 2014 by RecipeLion 198 Comments

The foodie bloggers took over Miami last weekend at the BlogHer Food 2014 conference! We attended the conference to represent all of our food sites at Prime Publishing LLC, including RecipeLion.com, AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, MrFood.com, FaveHealthyRecipes.com,  AllFreeCopycatRecipes.com, AllFreeCasseroleRecipes.com, TheBestDessertRecipes.com, FaveGlutenFreeRecipes.com, and FaveSouthernRecipes.com.  We got to meet some amazing food bloggers and companies, learn about all aspects of food culture, and (of course) eat a whole bunch of amazing food!

The conference took over the Miami Hilton Downtown and was filled with new and veteran bloggers, foodies and companies. We kicked off the conference with seminars by Diana Johnson of the popular video recipe blog EatingRichly.com, as well as a discussion with David Lebovitz. When it came time for dinner, we enjoyed a taste of Miami in the amazing spread provided by the conference. Many of the dishes included Cuban-style fare, as Cuban culture has influenced the Miami culinary scene immensely!

We kicked off day two with an amazing breakfast provided by Jamba Juice, and had the pleasure of sampling their brand new fresh-squeezed juices. After breakfast we heard from The Little Kitchen, The Girl Who Ate Everything, and I Am Baker about what’s new with Pinterest. During The Flavors of Miami seminar, we tried some amazing dishes with the quintessential Cuban flavors of Miami.

When it came time for lunch, we went on an excursion to Miami’s Mary Brickell Village and ate at the amazing Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita.

The conference came to a close with an amazing closing party at Cafeina Wynwood Lounge. We were thrilled to meet Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman, Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, and Elise Bauer of Simply Recipes. We enjoyed the entertaining flamenco dancers, the amazing venue, the food, and of course bonding with bloggers! The list of amazing women we met is long, but to name a few: Grandbaby Cakes, Cooking In Stilettos, Crazy for Crust, Lemons for Lulu, and Julie’s Eats and Treats.
