Easy New Year’s Eve Party On A Budget

December 28, 2011 by RecipeLion Leave a Comment

Happy New Year! We’d like to help you plan for your New Year’s Eve this year by giving you some of our favorite simple, easy recipes and party ideas that will have your guests saying Happy New Year with their mouths full and your wallet saying thank you. A great party doesn’t have to be expensive;  it has to have great food, exciting drinks and a welcoming environment that make your guests feel comfortable.  Make it a resolution to stay on a budget this year while giving your friends and family a glamorous New Year’s Eve party they deserve.

Easy Party Appetizers

Treat your guests to little appetizing bites, eclectic drinks for both kids and adults and ring in the New Year in style. There is no need for a elaborate menu, or a three course meal. Treat your company with mini bite sized treats like our Cheesy Bread Bites or our Mini Cocktail Party Meatballs.  Any type of food your guests can grab at ease is perfect for a party.  Leave little bowls of snacks around the room so your guests are not always waiting for the next appetizer to come out.  Having a casual snacking option is always a plus.  Try our Chex Party Mix for a great alternative to the pretzels in a bowl.

We searched the web for some of our favorite New Year’s Eve recipes.  We found some real good appetizer recipes for a crowd and would love to share them with you.  These are a great way to bring in the new year!  Here are the ones that made our mouths water.

Baked Spinach Dip Mini Bread Bowls from Picky Palate

Crispy Parmesan Potato Puffs from How Sweet It Is

Mini Deep Dish Pizzas from Dashing Dish

Don’t they all look great?  We hope that you enjoyed them as much as we did.  Now that we have our appetizers planned and figured out, let’s move to the fun part – party drinks!

Easy Drink Recipes

Drinks are the most important and the most expensive part of a New Year’s Eve party.  You don’t need a heavily stocked open bar this year.  Stick to one or two signature cocktails for the night. Try our fantastic Sparkling Orange or Sparkling Rhumba for a great party drink. Both made with IZZE soda, these are simple and delicious to make.  Plus, the kids love IZZE drinks,  just skip the alcohol, pour the IZZE in to a martini glass and make the kids feel like they are a part of the party too!

Not only did we find some great drink recipes on the Recipe Lion website, but we also found some with our favorite bloggers.  These festive drinks are perfect to casually sip as you count down!  Here are a few that we really enjoyed.

My Much Needed Silent Night Martini from Grin and Bake It

Sierra Mist Natural Holiday Drinks Frost Bite Mocktail from The Little Kitchen

We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, with auld lang syne and with these tasty drinks!  We hope that you think that they look as good as we do.  Now that you have the food and the drinks all prepared,  it’s time to bring out the party supplies – the party hats and noise makers.  And what better way is there to save money than to make your New Year’s crafts on your own.

New Year’s Eve DIY Craft Projects

The first thing your guests see upon entering the party is the ambiance of the place. We teamed up with our favorite craft website, Fave Crafts, for some great New Year’s DIY projects and decorating ideas for your party. Make this elegant New Year’s Party Glass Centerpiece to liven up your home.  They also have these great New Year’s Noisemakers that are great for when the big ball drops. If you like these ideas check out their great ebook for more New Year’s crafts.

What’s a New Year’s Eve party with out party hats?   We found these adorable easy to make paper hats.   If you love crafting with paper then you will love these!

New Year’s Eve Party Hats from Merriment Design

Well, that about covers everything you need to throw a fantastic New Year’s Eve party on a budget.  We hope that everything looks great to you.   Be safe and have fun bringing in the new year.  If  you’d like to get more recipe ideas check out our 14 New Year’s Eve Party Ideas.  We hope that next year will be just as good or even better than the last one.
