Get Him to Pop the Question with Chicken

August 4, 2009 by RecipeChatter

No, you didn’t read that wrong. It hasn’t been proven 100% effective, but according to an article published in Glamour Magazine in 2002, you can get your man to propose by…cooking?

That’s right. The recipe for Engagement Chicken has been around for years. It’s an extremely simple recipe that just requires a chicken, a few lemons, salt and pepper. But when Glamour published an article with the recipe, urging women to try to to reel in the ring, it seems this mythical chicken recipe worked some mysterious magic.

Right after the article came out, over 21 women wrote to the magazine claiming they were proposed to almost immediately! Some men claimed the whole chicken just seemed like a wifely meal. Especially for those women who didn’t normally cook, the results seemed more obvious. All of the sudden, the man got a look at what his girlfriend would be like as a wife and decided to propose.

The recipe is very simple, but that makes it harder to mess up. It is a classic recipe that won’t ever go out of style…unless you undercook the chicken of course. Click here if you want to try our Engagement Chicken Recipe for yourself. Remember, cooking time varies based on size of the chicken and oven used.

If you try the recipe, comment on this blogpost to let us know how it went! Even if you aren’t trying to get engaged, try making it for your boyfriend or husband ot see his reaction. For more information and tips on Engagement Chicken, click here!
