Get Outside and Enjoy an Old-Fashioned Picnic with These Easy Picnic Recipes

May 23, 2011 by RecipeLion 3 Comments

Summer is just about here and that means picnic season! Getting outside with family and friends for a fun outdoor gathering is one of my favorite things about summer. And it wouldn’t be an outdoor gathering without some delicious picnic food. Whether it’s camping or just  a day at the park, I love a good picnic.

There are so many recipes and ideas out there for a picnic – from salads, to sandwiches and snacks. But if you’re like me, keeping the hard work and prep to a minimum is important. So how do you make this happen but still provide food everyone will enjoy? (Outside of just buying already prepared junk at the store of course, but who wants that?).

That’s where this recipe collection comes in handy. Thanks to this 21 Must-Have Easy Picnic Recipes Free eCookbook you can leave the difficult cooking and prep behind and spend more quality time enjoying the outdoors. Also, by making your own picnic food you’re sure to save money too. Which let’s be honest is a fact that’s all the more important  thanks to these high gas prices.

One of the most popular salad recipes among our readers (that’s also included in this eCookbook) is The Best Broccoli Salad. For those who aren’t normally fans of veggie salads I swear you will be swayed. It’s amazingly delish and easy to make!

While perusing one of my favorite fellow food sites of the moment, Hoosier Homemade, I came across this great post with some other yummy ideas for picnic food. I especially fell in love with the Lemon Drop Cookies, I’m seriously a sucker for lemon desserts. So I just thought I’d share the ideas because you can never have too many I say.

So enjoy making some of these 21 Must-Have Easy Picnic Recipes, I hope your picnic is not only a hit, but stress-free too.

Get out and enjoy the sunshine!

Thank you so much for posting this. I am really on a budget right now because I’m a recent college grad and don’t have a job prospect yet. During the school year my parents paid for my food so I could afford to eat our pretty often and go out to places like a movie or museum. Having a picnic is a great way to have fun outside and make some tasty food.
I will be sure to try the avocado salmon sandwich and I love lemon drop cookies. I also need to learn to cook more so this will give me an excuse!
