Today’s Recipe

On the seventh day of our 12 Days of Christmas in July Giveaway, my true love gave to me…these Quick and Easy Shortbread Cookies from Gourmac! Hutzler-RecipeINGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 cups flour

DIRECTIONS

Mix all ingredients together until they become a smooth dough. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip a cookie stamp into powdered sugar or flour and then press the stamp into a ball of dough. Repeat for each ball. Bake at 350°F for 15-18 minutes.

    I don’t like shortbread or sugar cookies at Christmas time, and nothing with frosting on it. But I do love a good ol’fashioned peanut butter cookie!

    I don’t like traditional shortbread or sugar cookies with frosting on them. I do however like a good ol’ peanut butter cookie or the occasional gingersnap without frosting on it.

    Our favorite Christmas cookie is a fudge cookie with mint chips! When I found the recipe, it called for crushed peppermint and I substituted it with the green mint morsels and we are, well…addicted! lol

    My favorite Christmas cookie recipe is a family recipe for Norwegian kringla cookies that we make every year! We make them into figure eights or bow ties, and when they’re baked we put peanut butter, or butter and sugar on them and enjoy! Thank you so much for the chance to win!
