To our favorite chef who certainly would have been a Featured Foodie on RecipeLion, happiest of birthdays to Julia Child. Today our iconic lady with the ladle would be 100 years old. She has made quite the impact on the culinary world with her recipes that have yet to go out of style. Channel your inner-Julia and listen to the distinctive voice in your head that tells you to go ahead and add that extra dash of wine.

Among her most iconic dishes, we have plenty of options for you to try. Get French and fancy and tell us what you think about these dishes that made Julia Child such a memorable creator of culinary genius.

Salad Nicoise from FaveHealthyRecipes.com: Take a look at this salad that is packed with protein so you’ll have a lunch or dinner that will keep you full. With a mustard and lemon juice based dressing, you’ll feel like such a chef using dressing that isn’t from the store. Julia would be so proud.

Beef Bourguignon from FaveGlutenFreeRecipes.com (pictured below): This main course is surely the one that Julia Child is most popular for, most likely because of the brandy and wine that will undoubtedly bring some helping hands into the kitchen when needed. Almost like a stew, you’ve got yourself a decadent dinner that isn’t too complex so any chef can handle it.

Coq qu Vin from RecipeLion.com (pictured below): Don’t let the name intimidate you, this Julia Child favorite is delish with simple boneless skinless chicken breast. The name of the recipe will have your guests inspired to have a gourmet experience with you. No one has to know that this meal only took an hour.

Lowfat French Potato Salad from FaveHealthyRecipes.com: While potato salad may sound like an American tradition, step outside the box – and the country- for this healthy version of a popular side dish. You get all the indulgent flavor but with lowfat ingredients you need not let the guilt get to you.

Baguettes from AllFreeCopycatRecipes.com (pictured below): A crusty bread is a requirement for all the rich sauces Julia Child is known for using. Make your bread just like the pros with this copycat recipe that turns out every time.

Super Easy Beignets from MrFood.com: Dinner just isn’t complete without dessert but make it easy on yourself. These French fritters only require 3 ingredients so your trip to the grocery is easy and you’ll have a lightly sugar dusted pastry to act as the cherry on top of a fabulously French meal.
