There’s no doubt that many of us make new year’s resolutions to lose weight by eating healthier and exercising. It’s more than likely at the top of America’s new year’s resolutions. In fact, the only other resolution that may come close to weight loss (in terms of numbers) is quitting smoking, at least in my opinion.
So, to cater to one of those resolutions, we’ve come up with a collection of cocktails that you won’t feel bad about having during your New Year’s Eve party. If you serve these instead of high sugar, high calorie options, it will help ease you into your weight loss resolution without any feelings of guilt. Plus, having one or two of these drinks may count as your fruit serving for the day. Maybe.
Take this Blueberry Limeade Cocktail recipe from Portuguese Girl Cooks, for example. It’s not only festive, it only has four ingredients and I’d be willing to bet you have most of them in your home right now. This definitely beats the 15+ ingredient cocktails with fake dyes and added syrups you’d buy at your local store.
Another great example of a DIY low-calorie cocktail is this SoNo Sunrise from At The Table. With just five easy ingredients, you can make this fancy-looking cocktail one at a time, or in a large pitcher for guests to help themselves. This is a healthier, no fuss option you’d be silly not to consider.
Lastly, you can get your party on and boost your antioxidant intake with this Perfect Paloma Cocktail from Drizzle and Dip. This recipe, just like the others above, has few ingredients and is easy to make for just a few people or for a big crowd.
