Note: If you are super confused, I am posting weekly blog posts on the August’s national food holidays for the upcoming week. Each week will feature at least seven unique recipes that correlate with the national food holiday for that specific day. You can find the previous blog posts below.

This week will feature a few extra recipes because there are more than 28 days in the month of August. Now get ready because the final week of National Food Holidays begins now.
August 22nd: Eat a Peach Day
Recipe of the Day: Grilled Peaches with Mascarpone Whip
If you’ve never had grilled peaches then you’re missing out on something special. Now, if ordinary grilled peaches are so amazing, then these Grilled Peaches with Mascarpone Whip are insanely delicious. I made this peach dessert on a Tuesday, and, on Wednesday, I went back to the store to buy more peaches. I’ll be shocked if you don’t love this dessert as much as I do.
August 23rd: National Sponge Cake Day
Recipe of the Day: 1950s Hot Milk Sponge Cake
Sponge cake is dreamily soft, and this 1950s Hot Milk Sponge Cake is no different. With every bite you take, you’ll fall further in love with this amazing dessert. I ate way more than my share because once you start on this sponge cake, it’s almost impossible to stop. This national food holiday will be sure to put a smile on your face.
August 24th: National Peach Pie Day
Recipe of the Day: Polka Dot Peach Pie
I know that we just had “Eat a Peach Day” two days ago, and now it’s National Peach Pie Day, but can you have too many peach recipes? I think not! You’ll absolutely love this Polka Dot Peach Pie. You don’t normally see pies with holes in them, but that’ll distinguish your pie from all of the others.
August 25th: Whiskey Sour Day
Recipe of the Day: Frozen Whiskey Sours
Celebrate the end of August with these yummy Frozen Whiskey Sours. This frozen drink is the perfect way to enjoy summer, especially because fall is right around the corner. If you haven’t guessed from the name, this day is for adults only. The kids will have to wait till tomorrow for their treat.
August 26th: National Cherry Popsicle Day
Recipe of the Day: Sangria Popsicles
Okay, I lied. August 26th is the perfect day for the kids, but the recipe that I’m featuring is not. These Sangria Popsicles are perfect for a hot summer day spent by the pool. These treats are cool, delicious, and, all things considered, they are rather healthy. You and your adult friends will love these popsicles (even though they aren’t cherry popsicles).
August 27th: Banana Lover’s Day
Recipe of the Day: Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
I have a confession. Sometimes I’ll hide bananas from my family, so that they have time to ripen for this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. If I don’t hide them, then they disappear in less than a day. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but my family has a weird obsession with fruit. I buy it one day, and it’s gone the next. It’s impossible to find fruit that they won’t devour instantly. Well, I guess it’s a healthy obsession at least.
August 28th: National Cherry Turnover Day
Recipe of the Day: Double Cherry Turnovers
National Cherry Turnover Day is a great day. These turnovers make for a delicious breakfast that will help you to start your day on the right note. You’ll be shocked at how much you enjoy these Double Cherry Turnovers. They are so much better than any store-bought turnover. Although I have to warn you, once you make these the first time, you’re family will expect homemade turnovers from then on. Store-bought cherry turnovers are rather disappointing after this delicious recipe.
August 29th: Chop Suey Day
Recipe of the Day: Classic American Chop Suey
I am sad to say that the Classic American Chop Suey was the first chop suey I ever had. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I am rather disappointed in myself. The good thing is that my love for chop suey started with a delicious recipe. Even though that was my first time enjoying chop suey, it definitely wasn’t my last.
August 30th: National Toasted Marshmallow Day
Recipe of the Day: Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Bars
This is my second favorite day this week. I have an intense affection for any dessert that includes both peanut butter and chocolate. The fact that these Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Bars also include gooey marshmallows just adds another reason to love this dessert. I definitely suggest that you make this treat immediately. I swear that you won’t regret it.
August 31st: International Bacon Day
Recipe of the Day: Asparagus Bacon Bundles
Congratulations! You’ve reached the last day of August’s National Food Holidays. I know that this is technically an international holiday, but bacon deserves to be showcased on an international level. These Asparagus Bacon Bundles are absolutely stupendous. This is by far my favorite recipe throughout all of August. My family gets to enjoy these bundles at least once a week.
