Bacon has been king of breakfast foods for quite a while now, but can we talk about the queen? French toast is the fairest food in the land. It pairs perfectly with any berry, and looks amazing when someone sets a heaping plate in front of you. Is there any better way to start the day than digging into sweet, warm french toast? Ten out of ten breakfast food enthusiasts give a resounding “no.”
The only thing that could possibly improve upon french toast’s perfection is cutting out all the work. It’s time consuming to soak the bread in eggs and cook french toast over the stove, and in my opinion, it’s somewhat torturous to stand over that pan. It smells of cinnamon and sugar and I just want to chow down. I will admit to impatience.
That’s why slow cooker french toast recipes are the bomb. You can do a little prep work before bed, set your slow cooker in the morning before you have your coffee, walk the dog and run errands. Four hours later, your french toast will have cooked itself into a gooey, warm, irresistible brunch.
This Slow Cooker Blueberry Overnight French Toast recipe is my favorite because I can’t resist the taste of blueberries and maple syrup. It’s the perfectly tart, sweet flavor, while the french toast is filling and comforting.
