I don’t know about all of you, but I’ve been ready for autumn for weeks now. I’ve been wistfully gazing at my fall jacket every time I open my closet, waiting for the day we can be reunited.
August marks the beginning of the end of this unbearably hot summer, and, as this food blog tends to do, we’re ready to give you a head-start on all of our favorite recipes, courtesy of our friends over at AllFreeCasseroleRecipes.com.
We’ve got one key ingredient, waiting to tie all of this together: cinnamon.
Cinnamon is a spice that can seemingly work magic on almost any boring breakfast or dessert. Have a plain ol’ slice of toast? Throw a bit of cinnamon on top. Baking a cake? A dash of cinnamon would make it that much better.
There you have it. Cinnamon: The Wonder Spice. A spice that not only entices you to snuggle up with your favorite quilt but goes great with just about everything. While it may be too soon to start grabbing your cinnamon sticks to help stir your eggnog, it’s never a bad time of year to whip up some sweet baked goods.
Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake – Better than your average mug cake recipe, this sweet treat is ready in a snap.
Overnight Pull Apart Loaf – This is a great one for breakfast. Let the dough sit overnight, and wake up the next morning to a ready-made breakfast.

Maybe I’m just being a little unconventional, but I love the idea of cooking one of the more traditional “breakfast” treats and eating them for dessert. (Though, let’s be honest, I wouldn’t turn these down at two in the afternoon either.)

I agree, cinnamon makes any dessert taste better. I use it as my secret ingredient in fruit salads. A sprinkle of cinnamon can take an ordinary fruit salad to another level.
Cinnamon just says fall. It’s also very healthy (blood glucose levels and blood pressure). THese recipes look great.
