Tipsy Tuesday: How to Save Recipes

October 30, 2012 by JessicaT 1 Comment

Hey there, friends! As the holidays start to approach, we know you’re looking for easy holiday recipes that are going to “wow” everyone at the party. While you’re probably not going to be doing the bulk of the cooking until a couple of days before, you’re going to be seeing plenty of recipes you’re going to want to come back to later. While you could go through the painstaking task of writing down each of these recipes one-by-one, we’ve made things a bit easier for you through our handy Recipe Box feature, allowing you to save all of your favorite recipes so you’ll never forget them!

To save recipes into your recipe box, you must first create an account. At the top of the page of any of our food sites, you’ll find two options. If you already have an account, you’ll just need to choose to “Log In.” If this is your first time saving recipes, you’ll need to register for an account at “Register Now.” (Don’t worry – it’s all free!)

Once you’ve registered for your free account, feel free to log in and peruse the site for content. Once you’ve found a recipe that you know is a keeper, like RecipeLion.com‘s popular recipe for Million Dollar Potato Dumplings, you’ll want to choose the “Save to Recipe Box” option located beneath the recipe’s title:

Once you’ve saved your recipe, a box will appear that indicates your recipe is ready and waiting for you in your Recipe Box!

From there, you can choose to view this recipe in your Recipe Box by clicking on “My Recipe Box” in the upper left-hand corner of your page:

And there it is! There’s your recipe that you can come back to again and again:

And that’s it! It’s that simple! All of the recipes will indicate what category you found it in on our site, but you can also sort it with something that makes sense for you by creating folders. You can create a folder by selecting the “My Folders” tab, located next to the “My List” tab in your Recipe Box. Once there, you’ll have the option to “Add Folder.”

This is where you can organize to your heart’s content, creating folders and sub-folders as you please. Maybe you’re looking to collect all pink or blue foods for a baby shower, or you need a variety of ideas for the upcoming holiday party. You can make folders for all of these events and make your Recipe Box all about you.

And that’s it! You can have as many folders as you’d like and save as many recipes as you’d like, assembling a recipe collection that’s filled with all of your favorite recipes that you can make for years to come!

If you have any questions or need any clarifications, please feel free to chat with us in the comments or contact us at Customer Service, and we’d be happy to help.

We want to know! What kinds of recipes are you looking to save as the holidays approach?

To print a recipe , without all the junk, do the following: Highlight the recipe portion only, then go to Edit, copy. Then go to Compose email, enter your email address, then go to the message box, go to edit and hit paste. The recipe will appear in your message box. Then send. You have just the recipe ready to print. PS I use a little nutmeg in this recipe.
